Established in 1993, the Occoquan Chase has grown quickly with more than 300 entries and become one of the areas favorites.
The Occoquan Reservoir at Sandy Run Park provides rowers with some of the best racing conditions in the world. The race begins upriver from Sandy Run above Jacob's Rock. The 3-mile course follows a gently winding path past the launch site, finishing at the first set of overhead powerlines past the grandstand viewing area.
The Occoquan Chase is this Sunday, October 13th at Sandy Run Regional Park in Lorton, VA. Read on for the schedule and information about the race, and please sign up to bring food and help manage the tent.

Practice and trailer unloading
NOTE: All rowers will stay at the Occoquan until the conclusion of all Wilson racing and the trailer has been fully loaded. Boat unloading will take place Monday at TBC. Rowers who do not attend loading and unloading will put their status for future races in jeopardy.
The tent is set up behind the boat trailers in the woods. Look for the Wilson Crew banners to find us. Friends and family, please wear some Wilson green so that it is easy for us to spot each other and to cheer on our amazing rowers together. Please remember, for everyone’s safety, parents are asked not to come to the trailer but rather to wait at the tent for their rower.
Please note there will be no Wilson bus to the regatta. Rowers must arrange their own transportation to and from the race.
To reach Sandy Run, take I-95 south of the Beltway, exit at Lorton Road, turn right on Lorton, turn right on Furnace Road, right again on Ox Road (Route 123), left on Hampton Road, turn left on Van Thompson and follow it to the park entrance.

There are fees for parking at Occoquan. There is no charge for cars carrying more than 10 people, or tow vehicles/race volunteers, officials, or car toppers.
Vehicles with 9,8 or 7 people=$10
Vehicles with 6,5,4 or 3 people =$20
Vehicles with 1 or two people=$30
Fairfax High School Crew Boosters with assistance from park staff will direct ALL parking. Parking in the residential neighborhood is not allowed for the regatta, towing will result.
When parking in Sandy Run is full, shuttles (3) will bring people to the park from the Old Hechinger Lot in Woodbridge (intersection of Rte 123 and Gordon Blvd).
We need volunteers and food donations to feed our hungry rowers before and after racing. We also need help running the tent and cleaning up afterwards. It’s a long day and we’ll need a lot of help.
Please click on this link to do your part. In order for your food donation to arrive on time, please send your items with your rowers in the morning. It’s particularly helpful to have tent help at the end of the day. Thank you!
And, don’t forget to sign up to bring food and drink to our carboloads:
